It's been like 1.5 years since I first uploaded a preview of "Spectre", and xander556 was wondering if I wanted to do another one before the release. Obviously, since you're reading this, I didn't mind. This has a lot of qualities that I enjoy in levels, and I think it deserves as much attention as it can get. There are currently only a few parts left. With polishing and the final touches, it should be out in a few months. You'll see a full showcase on the channel once it's out, so stay tuned for that.

The level has definitely taken much more shape since the first preview, and I like a lot of what I see. Overall, this reminds me of more oldschool design megacollabs. There aren't too many of those nowadays with many megacollabs focusing on incorporating some kinda theme or color scheme rather strictly, which often results in art or effects taking the upper hand. This, on the other hand, is just a cool design level with various colors from part to part. For some, that may be a bad thing, but I think it's fun to see a megacollab like this again. That doesn't mean any parts look dated, though; there are many parts that look very modern (in time, not the style) in how they execute design style.

An important aspect that gives this that oldschool megacollab is how the transitions are handled. Megacollabs nowadays usually have to do some tricks to go from one part to the other because of how different the parts are, with some people doing the lazy route of black pulses and toggling each part, while others get more creative with cool effects. This has little of either; most parts' structures and decoration just end and the next starts right after without being toggled or anything. They're just visible and right next to each other always, which is the best for gameplay in my opinion. All the extra stuff just makes it harder to read. There are, however, some transitions with more to them to be found in this, and I have to say that some look a bit rough. I think this is something that can be patched up for the full release, so we'll see how it looks then.

All in all, this is looking like a very cool "oldschool" design megacollab in how its built and put together. I'll be judging more of the overall quality once the project is fully done and out, but I'm excited to see how it turns out. There are a lot of cool parts in this right now.
