I running IOS 9 on my old iPad 2.
1.Setting/general/accessibility/increase contrast/turn all on
2.Setting/general/accessibility/Reduce motion/turn in on
3.Setting/wallpaper/choose new wallpaper/make sure you have still wallpaper
4.Setting/Icloud/and disable everything except important things
5.Setting/general/background app refresh/turn everything which you don't use
6.Setting/general/spotlight search/and uncheck everything there
