In the mid of 2000s years a new submachine gun was developed in Russia, it immediately won the love and respect in a special forces units. Novelty was named in honor of the legendary group of special purpose –«Vityaz». The new sub-machine gun PP-19-01 - development of concern "Kalashnikov". Name of SMG was not accidental. One of those who developed the concept of the armaments, was Sergei Ivanovich Lysyuk - Hero of Russia, and the first commander of the famous group of special purpose "Vityaz" of Internal Troops of the MVD of Russia. Combat experience obtained by the veterans of celebrated Special Forces unit of Internal Troops, which past all the wars in the country, allowing developers to create one of the best in its class, submachine guns. Besides operators of the unit also took part in the testing and validation of the new smg. Operators of antiterrorist units need a compact weapons, able to provide a high rate of fire and firepower. Up to a point this role performed by shortened AKSU. However, its 5.45x39 ammunition is to much for law enforcement tasks. Mainly because of its enormous power and improved rebounding ability.
