Deep Litter - First Clean out this Winter - HUGE pile of compost

Today is the first time this winter that we are clearing out all the bedding in our chickens deep litter system.  It has been working quite nicely since November but recently has gotten compacted enough and deep enough that it was just starting to smell a bit like ammonia despite being turned which is a good signal to me to hit the reset and let it start again.
I am amazed at how much material comes out of this after adding just a little bit every few days for half the winter!  We've got a new mountain of compost cooking down outside now, sprinkled with 5 gallons + of whole, viable seed, it will keep the chickens working and interested for months to come now!
