SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF GOLFER’S ELBOW
Medial epicondylitis, or golfer’s elbow, is caused by a small area of degeneration within the tendon that flexes the wrist and pronates the forearm. These are tendons and muscles just off the bony prominence on the inside of your elbow. Often the pain comes on over time rather than after one specific traumatic event. And far more people than just golfers get golfer’s elbow.

TREATMENT
Fortunately, you usually do not need surgery for this cause of elbow pain. Often ice and modifying physical activities for a few weeks can be enough to overcome it. Sometimes wearing a counterforce brace or strap just below the elbow can relieve pain. Working with a physical therapist can be very helpful as well. Sometimes injections, like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can work.

Watch the video to see where the pain from medial epicondylitis typically occurs and what motions reproduce the pain. Then decide if you should see a doctor to treat your golfer’s elbow.
