After the Taliban’s rapid offensive, most of Afghanistan is under their control, including capital Kabul. But the Panjshir province in the country’s northwest continues to resist the Taliban. However, with the Taliban surrounding the valley on all sides, the resistance in Panjshir was turning futile. Amid the deadlock between NRF and the Taliban, the leaders of both sides held peace talks on August 25.
