Joining 2 plastic sheets with heat (hdpe film) with soldering iron

Here I'm joining or welding plastic film together to make my pattern for a project I'm doing. This is one technique that works. I use the masking tape instead of paper as it also positions and holds the plastic film. For smaller seams I also go directly without tape on the film with my soldering iron, carefully with fast up and down movement.
