Military Vet and Mother Earns Her Master’s

Read Sierra's full story here: www.snhu.edu/about-us/news-and-events/2018/09/acti… When Sierra graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2018 she already had a lot of titles – mother, veteran and spouse of an active-duty military service member. But she was driven to earn her master’s degree to help her open and run a catering business. “I just wanted more. I wanted more for my life. I wanted more for my family,” she said. “You’re not going to be an active-duty service member forever. That’s impossible.” Sierra said she chose SNHU due to the advising staff it dedicates to military members and family members. Now she uses the knowledge she gained from earning her degree to run her business. “Having my master’s degree in accounting helps me with budgeting, taxes, payroll – almost everything I need to do administratively to run my catering business,” she said.
