On this occasion, the lens of Canal Viajeros went to record some hot springs very close to Bogotá, just 73 kilometers between the municipalities of Chocontá and Machetá. Los Volcanes Hot Springs, a very special place where thermal waters rich in minerals gush forth at 70°C, with important medicinal and therapeutic qualities.
To go to the hot springs from Bogota we must take the north highway exit, 1 km after the bridge over the Sisga reservoir we take the detour to the town of Guateque for about 13 kilometers, an approximate journey of an hour and a half. If you go by public transport you must take a bus at the Salitre terminal or at the northern terminal to the municipality of Macheta
The place is located at 2,350 masl and with an average ambient temperature of 15oC, its hot springs have temperatures between 38oC and 42oC.
These waters, thanks to their high temperatures, increase oxygenation and metabolism, stimulate sections of the digestive system, help control hormones, as well as the nervous system. They are also often used to treat skin conditions due to their sulfur content.
Another of its tourist attractions for nature lovers is the ecological trail that crosses the Guatanfur River, has a small waterfall, and ends in a large house and a small viewpoint. The waterfall is suitable for you to enjoy a refreshing bath, its waters are delicious, cold and crystal clear. At the end of the trail we find a farm with a playground and a small viewpoint with an incredible view of the place.
