Since 1981, SB Modellbau has
Since 1981, SB Modellbau has been supplying replacement engines and conversion kits for model railway locomotives of various scales. In addition, the company from Olching near Munich also realizes individual drive conversions, decoder conversions and more. Above all, they offer tailor-made conversion sets for coreless motors (bell-shaped armature motor, German: Glockenankermotor), which can be converted directly in the workshop and can also be installed by model railroaders themselves. I spoke at length to the managing director, Pierre Bussjäger, and had him show me his workshop. He joined the family business SB Modellbau in 1998 and finally took it over from his father in 2005. The company currently has seven employees (as of spring 2023).
