Onion pakoda or eerulli bajji are deep fried onion fritters prepared using onion, gram flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, curry leaves, carom seeds and asafoetida. I have used carom (ajwain) seeds, which I find it more tasty. If you wish you can replace it with cumin seeds or crushed coriander seeds. Sometimes I add finely chopped ginger and garlic, that also tastes great!!.

Preparing crispy onion pakoda is very easy. The key factor to get crispy pakoda or bajji is, not to add too much of water while preparing the dough. Either no water or very minimum water would be sufficient. Try this tasty, crispy and easy snack on this weekend and enjoy with a cup of tea.
