Hebei Province, tasked with relieving the capital's floodwaters, also suffered significantly. According to Reuters, nearly 5% of Hebei's 74.2 million residents were affected by the floods. Over 40,000 houses were washed away, and around 2 million residents were displaced. The direct economic loss amounted to 95.8 billion yuan (approximately 13.3 billion USD).
