DISCLAIMER! I am not for a moment claiming any of the historical photos/videos, any of the other images/videos, or music in this video as my own. It is all included for educational and entertainment purposes. The intention of this video, besides being a school assessment, is for people to learn something and maybe even have a laugh!

EDIT: Its really important to note that this was a HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT for an Information Processes Technology class. It was completed within an ambitious time frame of several weeks and the majority of the research can be attributed to a single source (Due to the limited timeframe):

Imperial Japanese Navy Heavy Cruisers 1941 - 45 by Mark Stille

I highly encourage anybody interested in this subject to get a copy of the title, with Osprey also publishing books covering all other major naval vessels from not just the IJN, but all other major combatant fleets during World War II.

The book can be found below:
https://www.amazon.com.au/Imperial-Ja...

My rushed script for the video was also a bit dodgy, for example, I accidentally and incorrectly wrote in the Japanese Type 96 Anti-aircraft guns, which are 25mm weapons, as only 20mm in the script due to the rushed nature of the project.

I also must acknowledge several other issues including the caliber diameter of the main armaments of the Cruisers, the Japanese used the metric system for their armaments, while Stille's book utilizes imperial measurements instead. There are several other minor historical errors which the viewer should be aware of.

The next is the nature of the video as a school project. In making this, the style of flashy graphics and unnecessary audio and visual effects was part of the humour of the younger demographic. I did realise then and still appreciate now that I was probably one of the only high school students actually interested in researching such an oddly specific topic as the IJNs Heavy Cruisers during WWII! So I do apologies if it isn't your cup of tea, I can completely understand why and recommend you go and check out other YouTube channels like Drachinifel, who produces fantastic content.

I do hope that one day I will be able to remake this video in a more thoroughly researched and maturely edited format, and I would also very much like to do many more videos on modern historical topics ranging far beyond naval history. For those of you who have read this far, and I don't imagine there will be many of you, thank you for taking the time to hear me out. I hope that you are well and wish you all the best in life.
