How to Use SUMIFS Function in Excel

In this Excel Function Explained video series, I will explain, how to use SUMIFS function in excel. Excel SUMIFS function is used to add the cells specified by a given set of condition or criteria in excel. Using SUMIFS function, you’ll be able to sum up cells containing numbers based on your provided conditions. It doesn’t matter if your data range is formatted as text or number. You’ll be able to use SUMIFS to SUM the occupied cells that has been filtered based on your conditions.

Let’s learn how to use SUMIFS formula in excel.
The Function looks like this = SUMIF (Sum Range, Criteria Range1, Criteria1,….)

The SUM If function has Three arguments or parameters.
1. Sum Range: This is the data range from where sum if will sum numbers.
2. Criteria Range 1: In this parameter, we need to select the cells from which we need to specify the first criteria. This is the first criteria range and you can add several criteria like this one.
3. Criteria 1: This is where you specify the condition based on which SUMIFS function will SUM the cells.

This is how we use SUMIFS in excel. Remember, using SUMIFS function in excel you actually tell excel formula to SUM cells that has values inside it based on several criteria you specify.
