North Norfolk Railway Mixed Traction Gala 2024 (including the Holt Hoover) | 7-8th June 2024

Another year has already passed
Another year has already passed and its now the beginning of June which must mean one thing, the North Norfolk Railway Mixed Traction Gala.
Running over the weekend of the 7th June to the 9th June, the Mixed Traction Gala in a sense is a Diesel Gala with a bit of steam mixed in. This year would see a staggering 6 visiting locomotives/units and 5 home locomotives/units making a grand total of 11 different locos on offer for the weekend.
Prior to the event on the Thursday a railtour organized by Branch Line Society called 'The Holt Hoover' operating from Eastleigh to the North Norfolk Railway's Sheringham station. Heading through Basingstoke, Reading, High Wycombe, Banbury, Warwick, Nuneaton, Leicester, Peterborough, Ely and finally Norwich. Operating this tour was both Class 50 50008 and Class 33 33012 (D6515) with the London Transport 4TC being the coaching stock, these two locos and the unit was also guests at the gala. The Sunday's tour called 'The Cromer Crompton' was cancelled due to low bookings.
LSL (Locomotive Services Limited) would come back again this year with another locomotive to run during the gala, this time being Class 37 37667 (D6851) 'Flopsie'. This 37 being in BR Green looked lovely in contrast to the home Class 37 at the NNR.
A returning visitor from 2022 came back again in the form of Class 25 D7659 from Peak Rail and Pete Waterman, a lovely loco was enjoyed 2 years ago and it is lovely to see back on the railway and was a perfect sulzer match with the other visiting Class 33.
This video includes 'The Holt Hoover' railtour at Spooner Row on the Thursday and also the gala on both the Friday and Saturday's. All locomotives and units are featured.
