Beyond The Black is breaking all the records in their native Germany! On the latest full length album, the chart-topping Horizons, the band built around the charismatic Jennifer Haben is allowing themselves to evolve to a more modern sound! Recently a special acoustic lockdown EP was released where the band covered 4 songs as chosen by the Wacken Open Air crowd.
I sat down to discuss all of this and more, including Jennifer's personal journey!

Jennifer Haben on Hørizøns:
„More than one year of hard work, blood, sweat and tears was put into this album. Hørizøns became an enormous part of our lives and it’s hard to find the right words to describe what this release means to us. We are more than ready to go and start this new BEYOND THE BLACK journey. This is going to be huge!"

"W:O:A Acoustic Clash" is a bet between German Symphonic Metal shooting stars Beyond the Black & world famous Wacken Open Air's Thomas Jensen.
In the course of a 48 hour studio session the band had to arrange and record acoustic cover versions of 4 different metal songs. All of them chosen beforehand by the Wacken online community.
Either Thomas Jensen or Beyond the Black. Whoever loses the bet, is obliged to operate the barbecue at the next Wacken Open Air. All proceeds will be going to different charity organisations (to be announced).

As a herald for international women’s day, symphonic metal outfit BEYOND THE BLACK – fronted by the exceptional Jennifer Haben – present their new single “Misery”, off of their upcoming album Hørizøns, to be released via Napalm Records on June 19th.
Jennifer Haben on the new album:
“With 2019 having been the biggest year in our career as a band so far, we were thrilled and anxious to get back to the studio and start writing again – not just to make up to the fast and amazing development that has happened in the band since our last album, but to pin this development down also musically for everyone to hear and see. Hørizøns is unmistakably a BTB album, but with so many new facets and personality adding up to the classic BTB ID that make it a true band-album. For us this has definitely been a walk on the tightrope and we feel to have it accomplished to its fullest. Without beating around the bush, we can say that we're extremely proud and confident that Hørizøns is the best BTB album to date.“

The two most promising bands in modern melodic metal join forces to flash Europe with an amazing tour across the countries. AMARANTHE and BEYOND THE BLACK kick off their joint European Co-Headline tour in Munich, November 13th, to spread the news of a new metal generation across the continent.
Olof Mörck, AMARANTHE's guitarist and founding member, about the massive cooperation:"Hot of the heels of our fantastic tour with Sabaton, AMARANTHE are now incredibly enthusiastic about playing full-length sets all across Europe this fall!
