Paul Kovitz was raised in New York. In 1942 volunteered for the Army Air Corps. He was first sent to Miami for basic training. Then to Sheppard Filed, Texas for airplane mechanic school. After he was sent to Illinois to become an engineer officer. He would return to Miami for further officer training. After completing his training, Kovitz linked up the 390th bomb group in Spokane, Washington, as part of the 569th squadron. During his interview, Kovitz talks about what life was like in England for 2.5 years and his duties as a engineer officer.  He describes life on a WWII airbase.  He married a local English woman while stationed in England. They were married 71 years until his death at age 93.
