Thyagaraja was a phenomenal and prodigious saint among the music composers of South India. His compositions are full of rhythmic, harmonic and melodic beauty. Thyagaraja's kritis are remarkable in their Poetic, Musical, and Spiritual Essence. He wrote and composed his first song at a very young age. It is believed that Thyagaraja has composed four thousand compositions representing twenty four thousand Shloka's of Ramayana. Out of these only less than a thousand compositions are now available. Most of his compositions are in Telugu and Sanskrit.
