In this video, we want to show you the 10 cheapest cities in the UK. In these cities, people are living much better because of the difference in the cost of living. We will rely on the data from Budget Direct that takes into consideration basic costs such as rent, utility, and transport, and then compares their totals with the average salary. Those working in Manchester can earn about 2,324.11 pounds per month on average. To rent a one-bedroom apartment, you’ll need about 913.36 pounds. And in that room, utility bills may add up to an average of 162.36 pounds. To get around by public transport, a transport pass of an average of 71.74 pounds per month is needed. Thus, you’ll end up spending 1,150.40 pounds per month. And if you take that away from the average monthly income of 2,324.11 pounds mentioned earlier, you’ll still be left with as much as 1,173.71 pounds to watch your favourite club performances at Old Trafford or Etihad Stadium, if that’s a priority for you. 9. Edinburgh The capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh finds a place on this list. If you are working in Edinburg, you are expected to earn an average of 2,312.50 pounds per month. That’s another huge sum in this economy. Meanwhile, an average worker in Edinburgh spends 1,076.42 pounds on rent, transport, and utilities. To rent a one-bedroom apartment in this city, you need 869.58 pounds on average. Utility bills in this city on average sum up to 146.84 pounds while the transport pass costs just 60.00 pounds a month. That means, those living and working in this city will be left with an average of 1,236.08 pounds to care for groceries, health, clothing and other necessities. This is indeed a cheap city. 8. Birmingham We are back in England to look at facts about Birmingham, the home of Brummies to determine if it truly deserves a space on the list of cheapest cities to live in England. In this city nicknamed “The City of a Thousand Trades,” employees earn 2,285.83 pounds on average. To rent a one-bedroom in the city in the metropolitan county of West Midlands, you need just 709.46 pounds. Your average monthly utility bill will add up to about 159.41 pounds. To move around in the second-largest city in the UK as your rub shoulders with its over one million population, transport passes take as little as 65.00 pounds. An average Brummie is invariably left with 1,351.96 pounds after the total expenses of 933.87 on average have been taken care of. 7. Southampton Now, let’s go to a port city in Hampshire, England, and that is the city of Southampton.
