Join me for another one
Join me for another one of my walking tours as today we are in New Zealand's largest city of Auckland otherwise known as Tāmaki Makaurau. Auckland with its population of approximately 1.7 million is located towards the north of the country's more populous North Island and is well known for ranking highly in global liveability rankings with its city centre located along the shores of the beautiful Waitematā Harbour. The city is also geographically rich and located on the Auckland Istiumus of rich fertile land and along with 53 volcanic centres that make up the Auckland Volcanic Field there are even plenty of extinct volcanic cores in the city such as Mount Eden which are really impressive. Auckland is also in easy reach to the nearby nearby Hauraki Gulf to the east, the Hunua Ranges to the south-east, the Manukau Harbour to the south-west, and the Waitākere Ranges and smaller ranges to the west and north-west making it a great place for outdoor recreation lovers.
In this video I will beginning at Auckland's iconic Mount Eden before heading over to Auckland Botanical Gardens and Domain whilst also having a look at Auckland War Memorial whilst I'm at it. After that in the next section of the tour we'll head down to the lovely Harbourside districts of Auckland starting at Judges Bay and then on to the Port of Auckland, Quay Street, the ferry wharfs and terminals, New Zealand Maritime museum, Viaduct Harbour and the Wynyard Quarter. After checking out the vibrant Harbourside areas of Auckland we will then tour some of the city's most busy streets including the main commercial Queen Street in addition to the lively Vulcan Lane. After dropping by Albert Park we will then walk over to the Sky Tower and Sky City Entertainment Complex where we will conclude the walking tour at the second largest free standing structure in the southern hemisphere!
