Distance learning Certificate in Clinical Embryology

The Embryology and PGD Academy have developed a distance learning Certificate in Clinical Embryology which is now available on a new platform. This is a unique, flexible, training programme that will provide the fundamental scientific background essential for embryologists through 8 modules, an exit exam, and a log book for in-house supervision of the practical aspects of clinical embryology. The programme is delivered by distance learning with talks by some of the world leaders and there is an optional, online multiple-choice exam for each module. The exit exam includes submission and feedback of a 3000 word essay, video of key lab techniques, and approval of the log books. The exit exam can only be taken when the student has passed all eight modules. Students will take approximately 8-12 months as they will be working at their own pace.

The certificate is accredited by the Royal College of Pathologists.

As well as the full programme, there are different ways to take the modules. If you are not working in an IVF laboratory at the moment, you can take the modules and the exit exam without the log book. Your certificate will state that you have passed the taught component of the certificate in clinical embryology. It is also possible to take stand alone, individual modules, either with or without the exam. This may be particularly attractive for nurses and clinicians. Certificates will be awarded accordingly.
