In this AP Daily: Live Review session for AP US History, we will review the late colonial through the post-revolutionary periods. We will explain the structure of the DBQ & MCQ prompts and develop skills for responding to them.

We'll examine and summarize the historical developments that culminated in the creation of the United States of America. We will review the impact and consequences of the Seven Years’ War on the American colonies, British imperial policies, and the colonial reactions to those policies. We will examine the ideology of the American Revolution, and recap the conflict itself, along with its impact and consequences. The video will also review the challenges faced by the new nation during the Articles of Confederation period, and the attempts to address those challenges in the creation of the Constitution. This session’s exam component focus will be the document-based question (DBQ) and the multiple-choice questions (MCQ). We will examine and explain the DBQ scoring rubric in detail and provide a tutorial to explain the general format and construction of MCQs. This session’s APUSH writing skill focus will provide students with strategies to develop both the thesis and contextualization of their essays.
