If you are coming to Morocco you cannot miss a three day tour to the Sahara Desert. The three day tour takes you deep into the Sahara, but first has stops at the famous UNESCO Site of Ait Ben Haddou, an Argan Oil Cooperative, and a stay in the beautiful Tinghir on the way to the Merzouga Desert. There are other tours that will take you on an overnight two day trip, however they take you to the edge of the desert to the Agafay Desert or the Zagora Desert. This is the real sahara close to the border of Algeria (literally I slept only 45 kilometers from the border of Algeria and Morocco).
