Planning to visit Gloucester ? You shouldn't miss the opportunity to visit its Cathedral. Ever since moving to Gloucestershire we've always loved visiting Gloucester Cathedral. With its magnificent medieval architecture it is a wonder to explore. Probably more famous since the cloister fan vaults appear in the Harry Potter film franchise but it is steeped in history. Inside you'll discover some of the world’s finest examples of medieval architecture, from the giant pillars of the Norman Nave to the earliest surviving example of soaring Gothic Perpendicular. Stand in front of what was once the world's largest stained glass window and walk through its famous Cloister, which appeared in as parts of Hogwarts in three of the Harry Potter films.
The monks’ daily lives revolved around this area and now you can marvel at the beautiful fan-vaulted ceiling, see the monks’ communal washing area and enjoy the peaceful garden with spectacular views of the Tower.
