Anyone can get amazing quickly and safely with Meguiar's MT300 Dual Action Polisher and Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish, and Ultimate Wax.
For the best results while working with a Dual Action Variable Speed Polisher there are a few techniques to keep in mind:
1. Monitor how much pressure you're applying and make sure the backing plate always continues to spin.
2. Clean Disc/Pad frequently with compressed air or a soft nylon brush.
3. Work in a small area. You want to work in approximately a two foot by two foot section with three to five overlapping passes.
Before polishing thoroughly, wash and dry your car with a premium car wash soap and wash mitt like Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitt, and dry it gently with a quality microfiber drying towel like Meguiar's Water Magnet Drying Towel.
Next, inspect the paint for above surface bonded contaminants. Run your clean, dry fingertips over the paint, if it feels rough to the touch you have bonded contaminants and want to clay with Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit. This will prep the surface for compounding, polishing or waxing.
Now identify the condition of your paint:
1. For a defect-free finish - Go right to your protection by using Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax and a Meguiar's Soft Buff DA Finishing Disc. Apply wax directly to disc and set your machine to 3800 OPM's. Spread the wax thinly and evenly, and after about 3-5 minutes wipe off with a high-quality microfiber towel like Meguiar's Supreme Shine Microfiber Towels.
2. To remove light paint defects – Apply Meguiar's Ultimate Polish with a Meguiar's Soft Buff DA Polishing Disc. Apply polish directly to disc and set the MT300 between 4800 and 5800 OPM's. Work a 2x2 ft area with 3-5 overlapping passes using light to moderate pressure. Wipe polish off before it dries with a Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel. Work in sections over the vehicle. Follow with Meguiar's Ultimate Wax and DA Finishing Disc for long-lasting polymer protection after removing all light defects.
3. To remove moderate to heavy paint defects – Use Meguiar's Ultimate Compound with a Meguiar's Soft Buff DA Cutting Disc. Apply compound directly to disc and set the MT300 between 4800 and 5800 OPM's. Work a 2x2 ft area using moderate pressure with 3-5 overlapping passes, each overlapping by 50%. Wipe off compound before it dries with a Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel. Reapply as needed to remove all defects. As an optional step to further refine the finish and increase shine follow with Meguiar's Ultimate Polish and DA Polishing Disc. After polishing, finalize with long-lasting protection by applying a coat of Meguiar's Ultimate Wax with a DA Finishing Disc.
