A jailor asks 100 prisoners
A jailor asks 100 prisoners to stand in a queue facing in one direction and randomly places either red hat or black hat on each prisoner's head. A prisoner can see the color of hats of the prisoners in front of him, but not his own or of the prisoners behind him. Starting from the last prisoner in the queue, the jailer is going to ask the prisoner the color of his own hat. If the prisoner's answer is correct, he will be saved, else executed. It will be repeated for all the prisoners.
What is the maximum number of prisoners that can be saved?
What should be their strategy to make sure that most of the them survive.
