In the 19th Century, psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus conducted a memory experiment and produced a graph called Forgetting Curve. This curve indicates - you will forget most of the material that you have learned after certain interval of time.

In order to fight this forgetting phenomenon, you cannot simply re-read the material again and again but you have to perform Spaced Repetition or Active Recall. This means you have to design a specific  system for how to revise or how to prepare for exams.

One technique to design the Spaced Repetition or the Active Recall is the Leitner System. Leitner system utilises flash cards to design the Spaced Repetition or Active Recall interval.

You can use this technique to design a specific system for how to revise or how to prepare for exams.
