The winners were announced at a ceremony at The Ivy restaurant in London last night, 11 December 2022.
This is the first Evening Standard Theatre Awards since 2019 due to the pandemic, and the eligibility covered shows on the London stage between 20 May 2021 and 13 October 2022.
This year’s Evening Standard Theatre Awards nominations were announced in October.
The awards were hosted by Sheridan Smith, who is about to return to the West End to star in Shirley Valentine at the Duke of York’s Theatre, and Evening Standard owner Lord Lebedev.
James McAvoy won the Best Actor gong for his role in Cyrano de Bergerac, also at the Harold Pinter Theatre, and previously the Playhouse Theatre.
