Let me introduce how to make gunkan sushi for vegetarians. The word “gunkan” means “battleship” in Japanese, because of the boat-shape.

★Ingredients for 2 servings★
★sushi rice
150g(5.3oz, 180ml) short-grain rice
180ml(6fl oz)water

★sushi vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
1.5 tbsp vinegar

6 small sized seaweed(nori)

★Toppings
★Carrot
1/2 carrot(70g, 2.6oz)
1 tbsp water
1 tbsp mirin
1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tbsp sugar

★Okura
4 okura
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp sesame

★Spinach
1/2 bunch spinach
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp miso

★Corn
1/3 boiled corn(50g, 1.7oz)

★Natto
4 tbsp natto

★Seaweed
2 tsp salted seaweed
