[This was filmed at Ilwoo’s private home with minimum number of crew before the social distancing was raised while complying with the quarantine policies] Hello 1lwoolies, HAPPY NEW YEAR ♡ Today, we have my first cooking contents while celebrating the new year! Since it’s a tradition in Korea to have a dumpling soup for the new year, I’m disclosing our family secret recipe for our legendary dumpling soup. Beef brisket broth and kimchi dumplings could never go wrong. You can see me struggling to cook and welcome new year with dumpling soup mukbang together. ♡ _Ingredients: * Dumpling filling; Kimchi (matured preferably), ground beef and pork, mung bean sprouts, onion, scallion, tofu (prep to squeeze all tofu water in a clean cloth), cooking wine. * Broth; beef brisket (also for garnish) * Dough for dumpling wrapper; flour _How to: 1. Put beef brisket in water and bring it to a boil. Meanwhile, chop kimchi and mung bean sprouts nicely. 2. Put the diced veggies in a clean cloth and squeeze to remove water. 3. Chop the scallions and onions. 4. Put ground beef, pork, cooking wine, sesame oil, pepper, salt, and ground sesame in a bowl and gently break meat up using your hands. 5. Once meat is mixed with veggies, add kimchi, mung bean sprouts, tofu, minced garlic, minced scallions, onions and a touch of sesame oil to mix again well. 6. Roll the dough thinly with a rolling pin to make the dumpling wrapper. 7. Put fair amount of the dumpling filling onto the wrapper and make the dumpling shape. 8. Once the broth comes to a boil, add dumplings, rice cake and scallion. 9. While dumplings are being cooked in the broth, prep the dumpling sauce and beef garnish. 10. Dumpling sauce; Add chopped scallions, red pepper powder, ground sesame, pepper, sesame oil, soy sauce and vinegar in a small bowl and mix the spices well. 11. Beef garnish; Take out beef brisket from the broth and break meat apart thinly. Add chopped scallions, sesame oil, dark soy sauce, minced garlic, pepper, and ground beef to your beef brisket and mix everything well together. 12. Take out dumplings with the broth into your plate and put your beef garnish on top. Enjoy your dumplings with Ilwoo’s special dumpling sauce!
