In this video tutorial, Titocan
In this video tutorial, Titocan demonstrated how to download bathymetry datasets for User Defined Area from the GEBCO Application Tool, or User Interface.
In the demonstration, Titocan showed how the bathymetry datasets can be downloaded in different formats including:
*NetCDF format
*GeoTiff format, or
*Esri ASCII raster format
It was also demonstrated how the choices of these formats determine the size of the data as well as demonstrated how data file size less than 100MB can be downloaded directly, while datasets greater than 100MB were downloaded via download link sent to user's email.
To access the GEBCO Gridded Bathymetry dataset directly, log on to:
https://download.gebco.net
To take you directly to the GEBCO Application tool or User Interface, where you can download the datasets. You can also access the platform via the GEBCO home page address on:
https://gebco.net
In order to retain the scope of this tutorial, the downloaded data were not displayed or plotted in order to see how the data look. So, in the next video, Titocan will be showing how to displayed or plot the GEBCO bathymetry dataset using:
MATLAB,
ArcGIS and
Surfer software.

--- About GEBCO bathymetry gridded Data ---
This new GEBCO bathymetry grid was released on the 30th April, 2020, and it provides a global terrain model for ocean and land at a high resolution of 15 arc-second intervals. It also comes with Type Identifier (TID) Grid that gives information on the types of source data that the new GEBCO grid is based.
