Khatti Dal

Ingredient                                      Quantity
Toor Dal (Soaked)                         ½ cups
Moong Dal (Soaked)                     ½ cups
Tomato cut into cube                   1 No.
Raw Mango cut into cube            1 No.
Green chili                                      4-5 No.
Salt                                                  to taste
Turmeric powder                           1 Tsp
Water                                              2- 2½ cup
For Tadka:
Chopped onions                            1 No.
Garlic cloves                                  10-12 no.
Ginger Chopped                            1 inch.
Oil                                                    1 Tbsp
Asafoetida                                     ¼ Tsp
Cumin seeds                                 1 Tsp
Dry red chilli                                  4-5 no.
Curry leaves                                 10-12 no.
Red chilli powder                         1 Tsp
Coriander                                      ¼ bunch
Raw mango chopped                 for garnish.

Method:
1. Take pressure cooker; add toor dal, moong dal, tomato, raw mango, green chilli, salt, turmeric powder and water.
2. Close the lid and cook for 3-4 whistle.
3. Peeled and chopped the onion.
4. Chopped garlic and ginger and keep it aside.
5. After 4 whistle switch of the flame and allow the pressure in the cooker release naturally. Once the pressure has released, open the cooker and Mash the dal with a madani or wooden spoon till smooth. keep it aside.
6. Heat oil in pan, add asafoetida, cumin seeds, dry red chillies and curry leaves, mix well and sauté for 1 min.
7. Add chopped garlic and ginger, mix well and sauté for 2 min.
8. Add chopped onion, mix well and sauté for 2-3 min.
9. Add red chilli powder, mix well and sauté for 1 min.
10. Add boiled dal, mix well and cook for 5 min.
11. Chopped the coriander leaves and add to the pan and mix well.
12. Remove in serving bowl, garnish with chopped raw mango and coriander leaves and serve hot.
