Backing Vocal Harmonies - Arranging & Recording

Here, using GarageBand for iOS 11 as a working example, is a film devoted entirely to backing vocals, their creation, and production.
There are pitfalls and problems to overcome, but once you have a good working method, they can really augment a mix, even when very low in level.
Here is a complete process of laying down four-part harmony, in addition to extra tracking for re-inforcement.
