First I'm going to explain how to calculate "A", which is a very important part of making bra patterns.
"A" equals bra size devided by ten.
To find out your bra size, you have to wear a bra that is comfortable and has a good hold. It needs to be fit.
Then you have to measure your breast volume(from the top of your breast to the bottom, as shown in the picture and video).
Now that you have your breast volume, you have to replace the star with that number, and solve the equation for "A".
Another problem that many people may encounter while drawing the pattern is when the cup and bridge don't match. To solve this, you have to measure under cups (1) and (2) and compare that number, with the crescent's length(by crescent I'm referring to the upper part of the bridge pattern).
If the difference is more than 2.5 Centimeters, you have to widen the bridge's patterns and add a few centimeters to the crescent's sides.
But if the difference is less than 2.5 Centimeters you can gather and fasten the cups, and it's good to go!
The last tip is about the band's length.
If the band's length is more than your bandsize, then you have to reduce it by decreasing the wings, and if it's shorter then your bandsize, you need to increase the wings's length.
