Easy Life - Pockets - an exclusive live performance for Vevo DSCVR ARTISTS TO WATCH 2019, an annual series highlighting those that are shaping the future of music.
Combining every band members’ musical influences would likely turn out a complete audible mess, but for Easy Life, it’s done the exact opposite. Having bonded over hip-hop swings, jazz melody, afrobeats, soul vocal and presumably a hell of a lot more, this Leicester 5-piece aren’t like any other bands out there. On paper, you’d probably think their music would be difficult to listen to, but the reality is free, breezy alternative-pop connecting all the genre worlds that they love. Lyrically, it only takes the first verse of their debut track “Pockets” to get wrapped up in their bold, honest and liberating songwriting. In fact, “Easy Life”, as they’ve stated themselves previously, “is a form of escapism” that “rejects all the pressures that modern life brings”.
