Back in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan - Is this Really in Iraq?!

Welcome back to Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan (also known as South Kurdistan). This place is one of the safest cities in the world and it used to be the gateway to visit Iraq when the rest of Iraq was extremely dangerous and the visa was extremely difficult to obtain. Erbil is the capital city of the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan, run by the Kurdistan Regional Government and protected by the Peshmerga. This is a great place to experience Kurdish culture and see a Kurdish capital with a heavy diplomatic sector. There is a HUGE American embassy here , a large souq, a mini Big Ben clock tower, lots of water fountains and a hell of a lot to do. This is a kurdish vlog.

Is it safe?
Iraqi Kurdistan is very safe and is relatively easy to visit. Crime is low in Erbil and the city was ranked one of the safest in the world in one report. I was wandering around alone at night and felt fine.

How to get a visa?
Visas for Iraqi Kurdistan can be purchased online prior to arrival.
