The first thing you need to do before buying the CPU is make sure your motherboard can support the Ryzen 5000 CPU you want. So, you will need to go to your board manufacturer's website and find your specific motherboard. Under support here should be a tab or a link to supported CPUs. Search through the list for the specific CPU you want to purchase. This chart should also indicate what BIOS version is required for that CPU.
