The Cars opened for Styx
The Cars opened for Styx at Selland Arena in Fresno, California, on October 26, 1978. This partial footage was originally recovered and shared on YouTube by Fresno Media Restoration (FMR). For some reason it was taken down, but luckily fan Gwyneth Jeffer had the foresight to save it. She has generously agreed to let me upload it here.
FMR had uploaded the show in two videos, but I’ve taken the liberty to combine them here in the order of the set. The Cars played ten songs that night, but only seven are represented here. I will upload the complete audio separately.
