Hi and welcome. This week we're learning how to knit neat selvedge edges in your knitting. We'll be going over the garter, stocking, ribbed, and seed stitch methods. ----- JOLIEOFCRAFT SELVEDGE EDGE GUIDE By: Jolie Marin Garter Stitch: slip the 1st stitch of every row purlwise with the yarn at the front. Then yarn back and knit to the end. Stocking Stitch: Row 1: knit across all stitches Stocking Stitch: Row 2: Slip 1st stitch purlwise with the yarn at the front, purl across to the very last stitch, slip 1 purlwise with the yarn at the front. Rib Stitch: (make sure your rib count starts with a knit and ends with a purl.) Slip 1st stitch of every row purlwise with the yarn at the back. Then rib across accordingly to the end. Repeat across every row. Seed Stitch: Row 1: Slip 1st stitch knitwise with yarn at the back, Seed stitch across to the last stitch, slip last stitch knitwise with yarn at back. Seed Stitch: Row 2: Purl the 1st stitch, seed stitch to the last stitch, purl the last stitch.
