Blackbird 4K Drone Scam, Explained

It is the night of Nov. 10, 2022, and Google users are looking for reviews and information about a supposed Blackbird 4K Drone scam that’s affiliated with something called bestdealtoday.org and bestdealtoday.co. Here’s what I found, and first, please click the like button, the thumbs up button. It’ll help me out.

So I’m looking around on Facebook and I find this brand new profile, not a page but a profile, created about six days ago, named Blackbird 4K Drone with no reviews which is what Google users were looking around for with the word scam. It has one follower. The picture shows what looks like “Emotion Drone.” One of the posts has a link. I verified the link was safe with IP Quality Score’s malicious URL scanner and clicked it.

The page I landed on mentioned nothing about Blackbird 4K Drone which didn’t help reassure me that this wasn’t a scam. It took me to something called DronePro 4K. Not the same thing.

I took note of the website URL, which was bestdealtoday.org. At the bottom of the page, it mentioned bestdealtoday.co. And on Trustpilot, I found reviews for a website called bestdealtoday.net, which may be affiliated with these websites. The Trustpilot score was 2.2/5 with 16 reviews, which is a low score.

The Facebook post about the Blackbird 4K Drone mentioned something about the U.K., but the website it landed on had a terms and conditions page that said it was “governed under the laws of the Republic of Latvia,” which was unexpected, to say the least.

My opinion, my personal recommendation… I would shop elsewhere.

Separate from this, if you did fall for any scam out there and you’re worried that you gave the scammers too much of your information, call your bank or credit card company and ask them what steps you can take to secure your account, just as a precaution. Also, if you gave the scammers any access to your Paypal, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or any other account like that, contact the company and secure your account. Enable two-factor authentication. Search Google for how to do that. Take extra measures to ensure the scammers can’t get in.
