To serve the realms of men

But as I read the names before me
A truth unknown
They died not for the realm
But turned their backs on the throne
What made these cowards flee?
Their lives not lost
But buried for none to see
By flame I read the scripture
Their lies unspilled
Their sacred oath, shall never be fulfilled
And as my path unfolds
The cracks form beneath me
Betrayal I am told
Awaits to deceive me
Unfinished story
What made those cowards run?
No death or glory
All loyalty undone
By flame I read the scripture
Lies burn upon the page
Deserters of the kingdom
But what drove them away?
Now
I see
Hatred cast them aside, but I have come
And there'll be
A new knight fighting until this battle's won
I will go down with this ship
Don’t fear the end
Because it’s coming for us all
Warned but could not believe
The exiled had good reason
Ignored the prophecy
And condemned them with treason
My life’s sworn to the kingdom
Then who should betray me?
And if my path should follow the exiled
Then who stands to slay me?
To you, I pledged allegiance
And vowed to serve the realm
Sacrificed all that I am
To save us from this hell
Adorned in capes of honour
I wore with pride
From days of endless shadow
Now stands a shining knight
And with valour, I shall fight
