The caravan moves to 400 kilometers away from McLean Park to initiate the 50-over format series between India and New Zealand at Eden Park Auckland. It's a perfect opportunity for the young Indian guns to showcase who they posses in oversea soil. New Zealand on the other hand looks more formidable side on paper and has a settled blueprint.
The regular skipper Kane Williamson will return to the lineup after missing the last T20 at Napier due to a medical appointment. Tom Latham has been included in the side as usual with Matt Henry replacing Blair Tickner and Ish Sodhi from the T20 side. With no Sodhi Michael Bracewell might get a go in the side. The pace attack is going to be lead by Tim Southee with Adam Milne and Matt Henry.
For India Shikhar Dhawan will be leading the side and the team is devoid of prominent names such as Virat Kohli Rohit Sharma KL Rahul Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. Shubhman Gill is likely to open the batting with the skipper. Rishabh Pant could be the wicketkeeper of the side with Sanju Samson getting a go. Arshdeep Singh is likely to spearhead the bowling attack and is likely to have the assistance of at least two from the list - Umran Malik Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Sen.
What to expect: Heavy rains on Thursday would leave the outfield significantly wet. Even as a lot of rain isn't expected on the match day cloudy conditions are likely to be on offer.
New Zealand Team News: Trent Boult and Martin Guptill were left out of New Zealand's squad for the ODIs. It also remains to be seen if Kane Williamson who missed the third T20I will be available for the opening one-dayer.
India Team News: Shikhar Dhawan is set to lead a near second-string Indian side in the one-dayers in the absence of several senior players.
