Award-winning professional choreographer and dancer
Award-winning professional choreographer and dancer Lua Shayenne has a burning need to create.
Half Ghanaian, half Italian, born and raised in the Ivory Coast, and now living in Toronto, Canada, Lua draws on the aesthetics and values of West African dance and culture in order to create dance pieces that seek to challenge multiple conventions and stereotypes, and explore current subject matters with the aim to be a catalyst of social change and spiritual progress.
In this short film, Lua shares some of the thoughts and inspiration behind her art.
