We sit-down with Viktor Nebahaj, who tells us how he spent most of his time in Dublin, then travelled the world with his girlfriend before  settling down in London working for Google. On the tube one morning on the way to work he noticed an advert for CrowdCube, instantly fell in love and started investing in Revolute, Monzo and others. It was on CrowdCube where he first came across a startup called FreeTrade. This really excited him as FreeTrade was all about investing which was something Viktor wanted to get involved in more, so he decided to invest in FreeTrade. He had a look at his bank accounts at the to see how much he could invest which turned out to be £3,000. Viktor ended up being the highest investor on CrowdCude outside of friends and family which caught the attention of the founder (Adam Dodds). Viktor later reached out to Adam for a meeting to tell him how impressed he was with FreeTrade which later led to an interview, then Viktor being hired as head of growth and after a short period of time Adam promoted Viktor to CMO and also names him as a co-founder.

As CMO Viktor explains what its like competing with the likes of Revolute who have entered the trading space, he also explained how millennials have very little trust in the financial and banking industry and how FreeTrade are winning trust by talking and reaching out to their community to build relationships. Most of the technology in trading is outdated and FreeTrade are on a mission building new technology and democratising this space. You can’t buy trust you need to earn trust and that’s exactly what FreeTrade are doing.
