Welcome to our live coverage of today’s severe weather forecast! We’ll be tracking and analyzing the latest updates from the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center. This stream will provide real-time information and expert commentary on the potential for severe thunderstorms, including damaging winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes.

🌩️ Overview:

Slight Risk of Severe Thunderstorms: Over much of the northern Plains, especially Nebraska and the Dakotas.
Key Areas Affected: Northern and central Plains, with focus on Nebraska and the Dakotas.
📡 Latest Update (20Z):

Severe thunderstorms expected this afternoon and tonight across parts of the northern and central Plains.
Scattered severe/damaging winds, large hail, and a few tornadoes are possible.
🔍 Detailed Forecast:

Northern/Central Plains: Severe storms are developing along the front over the northern High Plains. Convection is starting over northwest Kansas and eastern Colorado, where high temperatures are creating a favorable environment. Storms are expected to increase in coverage over time, with supercell potential in the frontal zone.

South New England: A general thunderstorm area has been added due to ongoing convection beneath an upper trough. Continued heating will support non-severe convection through late afternoon.

Southeast: The Marginal Risk area has been reduced due to subsidence, limiting the chances of locally strong gusts to areas with upper 70s F dewpoints.
