Welcome to Yellowstone National Park. Many have heard about the story of the young bison calf being loaded into a car and delivered to the Rangers' station. Once again on another May morning I recorded a second Bison calf alone! Lost from its mom during a river crossing. Would the cow give up on him as we have seen with others or would she return for him? It is proof of these bison cows' devotion to their young and for us to just leave them be and watch.
There are always bears, Yellowstone wolves and coyotes along the river searching for calves just like this one and as always we can only watch and witness nature play out as it will.
