Hi welcome to my studio.  In this video I cover water casting with a butane torch.  Also known as direct casting, water casting is usually accomplished by heating a quantity of silver scrap in a crucible and pouring it directly into a bucket of water.  In order to do this, you need a large torch, which can be complicated for those of you living in a place where large bottles of compressed gas are frown upon.  With my method, if you have a butane torch, you are going to be able to start creating little organic looking components for your jewelry pieces, quickly and easily with very little equipment or effort.  You will need some sterling or Argentium silver wire (16 - 14 gauge works best).  A dish of water.  Some pliers to hold the wire, some gloves are optional.  And you need a butane torch.  Enjoy making your water cast components.  Please leave any questions you may have in the comments below and I will be more than happy to answer any you may have.
