In this video I change out an old 3-prong 240 range outlet for a 4-prong outlet. I'm not an electrician, you should consult one. The white/neutral goes on the bottom; the red & black go on either side. Check out my YouTube channel for more DIY videos. I have every step of fully renovating this condo. Enjoy!

Update: You should pigtail off the white conductor and run that to the ground terminal. Meaning that you will have two wires splice off the neutral(white) wire. The way you would do this is you take two white insulated 10AWG 6" in length wires and you splice them into the existent white conductor with a wire nut. Once you do this you will have a total of 4 wires. 1black, 1red and 2 white ones. Simply connect  the wires as shown on the video and one of the left over white wires into the grounding screw on the outlet. This will ensure that when you plug in a 4 prong appliance into this new 4 prong outlet, the metallic frame/chassis of the appliance will be grounded and protect you and your family from the risky of getting electrecuted.
