Bali Secret Spots | GUIDE TO UBUD'S BEST SECRET SPOTS

So we arrived in the jungle of #Ubud and are ready to explore. It's a full day on the road, exploring the outskirts and #hiddengems around Ubud.
The first stop was at a traditional Balinese house compound, where we were shown around and told about the rituals and politics when it comes to a classic day in Bali.
Next up was at one of the famous coffee compounds in Bali, where the coffee beans are ingested by resident luwak, before they are excreted, cleaned and roasted.
The story behind this delicacy is that at the beginning of the 18th century, the Dutch established new rules in their colonies prohibiting farmers from picking the beans for their own use. The locals, however, noticed that the small, cat-like creatures ate these seeds and left them undigested in their faeces, allowing them to collect the coffee beans and roast them from that.
After the coffee plantation, it was time to head to a traditional, Balinese show, where dancers told the story of the perpetual fight between good and evil in the world.
It was then time to see how the Balinese people wash their sins and give thanks to the gods at the local Water Temple. Here the locals will visit at least once a month to purify themselves, cleansing their souls in the fresh spring water.
What a incredible day out, with plenty more to come!
