Something I forgot to mention is that all Persimmons are naturally high in tannins but especially when they are UNDER ripe. This means they might cause some gut problems.
Keeping that in mind, here are some tips for happy eating: only eat RIPE fruit, discard the skin, and don't eat a crazy amount - especially on an empty stomach. Cooking the fruit also reduces tannins. To read more about this, check out my blog post all about Texas Persimmons below.

I looked for a place to order Texas Persimmon Jam (in case you don't have any growing near you) but I can't find any. The closest thing is some places online that sell the seeds. So, if you want some, you might have to grow some. Here's a link to one of the shops. The Texas Persimmon seeds are at the bottom of the page:
